I have the UA Golden, and it is definitely great for the price, but not in the same league at all. Also, have had a ton of verb pedals. The effect of the Random banks on the 480L is arguably bigger a lusher reverb thats especially useful for longer reverb times. In terms of typical 3D gaming performance the 1080 is around 30% faster than the GTX 980 Ti and it manages to deliver the additional performance with a TDP of just 180 Watts which is 70 Watts less than the 980 . I switched from the Strymon Flint (which has a decent verb) to this thing, and my sound went from sounding like an 'effect' to sounding more 'real'. But again, with an algorithmic effects unit like the 480L, it has more to do with the algorithmic math than the surrounding hardware, so its not as sexy or relevant as fitting to the golden units for our 1176s or LA-2As or Fairchild units.
